The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is a non-profit Tribal health organization designed to meet the unique health needs of Alaska Native and American Indian people living in Alaska. Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has a hiring preference for qualified Alaska Native and American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93-638 Indian Self Determination Act. Summary Under supervision, supports the department through scheduling, reception, records maintenance, coordination with other hospital clinics and services, and general assistance.
R ehabilitation Support Specialist I employees perform work under close supervision, and generally require instruction and/or training.
R ehabilitation Support Specialist II employees perform work under minimal supervision at a higher level and may be assigned to train Rehabilitation Support Specialist I employees.
R ehabilitation Support Specialist III work under minimal supervision and are often considered a lead to the rehabilitation support specialist I and II and may be assigned to train Rehabilitation Support Specialist I & II employees.
Responsibilities A ll l evels
W ork under the direction of department leadership.
P atient Care Coordination
E nsures all charts and medical records are available for scheduled appointments or as requested.
C oordinates patient referrals and ensures appropriate follow-up after provider sees patient.
A ssists with routine referrals per standard protocol, to include scheduling diagnostic studies, clinic appointments, telemedicine visits, field clinics, and verifies THO orders have been sent and scheduled.
A ssists Rehabilitation staff with check-ins.
V erifies new orders are sent.
U tilizes tracking systems for patients in electronic health record and scheduling systems to maintain an appropriate database of patients requiring follow-up.
I nsurance Verification
C onfirms patient insurance eligibility.
U pdates insurance changes or any changes affecting third party billing in electronic health record.
C lerical Duties
P rovides prompt response to phone calls/messages, mail, faxes, or patient portal messages.
A ssists in maintaining a variety of files, logs and registers.
M ay maintain fax log for department.
O btains medical reports or health information from other facilities or providers.
C ommunicates with other ANMC departments and/or Tribal Health Organizations (THOs) to coordinate with other departments or THOs as needed.
P erforms routine and complex referrals in conjunction with medical providers, schedules diagnostic studies, clinic appointments.
S creens each referral for previous visits and eligibility status before determining appointment type and tests needed prior to visit.
S chedules same day appointments and ensures all information pertaining to visit is available.
M ay assist the department leadership in developing and maintaining Cerner and field schedules.
M ay order office supplies.
A dheres to organization and department attendance guidelines.
T echnician Duties (All levels)
T urn over treatment rooms as needed.
S upply treatment rooms as needed.
W ipe down training equipment as needed.
M idday and evening cleaning of all hard surface areas and equipment in the gym.
W ipe down all hard surface areas daily in the gym and waiting room.
R ehabilitation Support Specialists III
A cts as training resource, mentor, and professional role model Rehabilitation Support Specialists.
W ork with department leadership to provide input on process improvement opportunities and support implementing change process.
M ay help order supplies for the department (office and equipment).
M ay assist department leadership in performing audits as needed.
M ay Act as a backup for timekeeper.
M ay serve as a lead for Rehabilitation Support Specialists Team.
A ll levels perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
R ehabilitation Support Specialist I, II, & III
A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
mInimum Experience Qualification R ehabilitation Support Specialists I
Non-Supervisory – A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
R ehabilitation Support Specialists II
Non-Supervisory – A Minimum of 1 years of Rehabilitation Support Specialist experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
R ehabilitation Support Specialists III
Non-Supervisory- A Minimum of 2 years of Rehabilitation Support Specialist experience. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.
